The J.J. Brenner Oyster Co. was founded in 1893 by John Joseph Brenner in Olympia, Washington. The company flourished through the early part of the twentieth century, passing into the hands of J.J. Brenner's son, Earl G. Brenner (1893-1969). He sold many of his oyster beds in the 1960s, due to the economic woes afflicting oyster growers. In 1967, Earl G. Brenner's son, Earl R.
